High-level visit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo* to the EMCDDA

Following interest expressed in March 2016 by Kosovo’s authorities to further discuss issues related to the implementation of an Early warning system in the country, risk assessment on new psychoactive substances and drug laws in Europe, the EMCDDA invited a delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, to a meeting at its premises. The delegation also included other members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as a representative of the Kosovo Police and the NGO ‘Labyrinth’. During the second day of the visit, the delegation met with the Director of the Portuguese General Directorate for Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (SICAD) – where the Portuguese national focal point is located – and also visited the Xabregas treatment centre in Lisbon.
